New Doodlekit Website Builder Layout

About time,eh? I know, I know... it's long past due. We've been kinda busy (growing pains) and I do apologize for the delay. That being said, here are two Doodelkit demo websites showing off the new layout:

Layout 5 - Color Theme 1Layout 5 - Color Theme 2

You will notice that there are only a few color themes currently - I will be adding more over the next few weeks. This is where you can make some suggestions! Post some links to other website color themes you like or go out to http://kuler.adobe.com/ and find a color theme there that suites your fancy. All Adobe Kuler color themes have a name - just post the name and I will take a look at it. Or you can make your own (it allows you to create your own color theme and name it). However you want to make your suggestion, just make sure its viewable :).

The header for this layout is pretty cool as well. You can upload any image you want and it puts a fade on it from the left to the right. The fade allows the title and sub-title text to be viewable.

Take a look and let me know what you think!

Hallo Heath,

Thanks for the work done here. I tried them out - and at this stage think the top menu needs some tweaking. It appears big and the borders uneven (based on a direct migration on my current layout). Especially when using more menu / page entries.

More / formal colour schemes resembling the previous added theme will be appreciated. A colour sheme close to my current configuration will be great.

Regards,

Hey Vernon,

You might try turning off your Custom CSS editor code and then switching over. That might be what's throwing off your layout (that code was specific to your original layout). Let me know if it still looks the same...

Thanks for the speedy response. Will give it a try and let you know.

That solved the menu problem - thank you. I will wait for the updated colour schemes.

One other thing. I find the text fonts quite a bit bigger than in previous themes. But will just adjust my text / para's.

Hey Vernon,

Yeah, there are some new standards I implemented in this layout - one being a larger font size. This being driven mainly by higher screen resolutions on people's monitors as well as the increased size of website layouts (which Doodlekit is preparing to do).

i don't know how to try these new layouts coz it doesn't show up in admin /update or change layout settings in my account.

Hi Nick,

That's a lot harder than it sounds, mainly because the 'content area' for those layouts are static, so all the boxes used in it (like for Blogs, Blog Comments, Forums, etc.) are static in width. However, once we move to 1024px width layouts, I will try and incorporate this into them.

Neel, you just go under settings in the Admin Tool and it is the last layout option to pick from.

Can anyone tell me if it is at all possible to get different colored tables using the $29 per month plan. I like my website...but just can't stand all of the white table space surrounding my graphics....would like to have black backgrounds...Please check it out if you get time and offer any advise. Thanks, Mike
