switching domain names

Mon Dec 07, 2009 @ 09:13AM

I recently acquired a domain name that I would like to use for my existing Doodelkit website. How do I do this? I've already pointed the nameservers to Doodlekit but is there something I need to do in order to have that take affect?

Current domain name: vergennespartnership.net
Switch to: vergennespartnership.org

Thanks.

This should answer your question(s): http://doodlekit.com/forum/topic/727

Heath, That was helpful and I have done all of that but still nothing comes up under vergennespartnership.org

We have our site through Grassroots.org so it's not a paid site but we had it set up to vergennespartnership.net without issues...

Should be working now, it just takes some time to sync up.

Ben,

Maybe I'm missing something but when I go to vergennespartnership.org, I'm still getting directed to this URL: http://searchportal.information.com/?domainname=www.vergennespartnership.org./

I just confirmed that my name servers at moniker.com are pointed to doodlekit. Help!

Looks like it's working now. Just takes some time.

Ben,

Two things:

1. When I put "www" in front of "vergennespartnership.org" in a web browser it takes to the parking lot. If I leave the "www" off it takes me to the website

2. When I'm at the website and logged in and I try to click on the "Admin" link to manage the website it takes me back to the parking lot:http://searchportal.information.com/?domainname=vergennespartnership.org./admin

I'm sorry to keep coming back to this but I'm having real issues here and I need to resolve them as it is also affecting my email!

I really just wanted to change my URL but this has become a disaster.

I believe the problem is that you still have the old DNS records setup (NS3.DOMAINSERVICE.COM) in addition to doodlekit's. You should only have doodlekit's DNS servers.
