Verify ownership
There are several ways to prove to Google that you own (my site)
Recommended: Upload an HTML file to your server You can use this option if you are able to upload new files to your site.
Instructions:
1. Download this HTML verification file. [my code]
2. Upload the file to (my website)
3. Confirm successful upload by visiting (my website)html in your browser.
4. Click Verify below.
To stay verified, don't remove the HTML file, even after verification succeeds.
As we are not a flat file system (we do not use files we are database driven) the recommended option will not work.
Note the "there are several ways to prove to Google that you own (my site)". You will have to use one of these different ways.
There should be an option to 'copy' out some code that you can paste into your website instead of inserting a file. Copy that code, and then go to your website's Admin Tools --> Settings --> Optimization page. There, you will see a box labeled 'Extra Header Tags (Leave Empty Unless You Know How To Use)'.
Paste your code in there and save.
Thats should do the trick.

A very good way to get Google Webmaster verification is to first go to Google Analytics and sign up your website there, then go to your Doodlekit and copy/paste the code into the 'Extra Header Tags' as described above by Heath Huffman. Now go to Google Webmaster tools and sign up your website to them. Verify it by choosing Alternative Methods and clicking Google Analytics: use your Google Analytics account. click Verify.
You now have your Doodlekit website with Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools all together!
