Topic: HOWTO - Setting Up Your Existing Domain Name
|Ben Kittrell 03/27/2008 10:03AM|
If you have already registered your domain name it's very easy to set it up to work with Doodlekit.
You need to be on a paying plan. Free websites cannot have a domain pointed to them.
Log in to your domain name account, and find where you can edit the Nameservers. Use the following nameservers.
Nameserver 1 (Primary): ns1.doodlekit.com
Nameserver 2 (Secondary): ns2.doodlekit.com
Log in to your Doodlekit site and click on Settings then Domain Name from the Admin section. Make sure that your domain name is correct in the "Domain Name" field (example: mywebsite.com).
These changes can sometimes take up to 24 hours to take effect.
WARNING: This will point everything associated with your domain name to Doodlekit's servers, including E-Mail. If you're using an E-Mail host such as Gmail or GoDaddy you'll need to setup the MX DNS Records as well.
